I spent some time with a young mommy last night and she was overcome with fear for our nation’s future. Planes missing, ISIS, beheadings…
Folks, fear is a tool of the enemy. He uses it to STOP us from moving forward in faith. Think about it, when you are afraid, you are not doing a bit of good to solve whatever is causing your anxiety. I propose two simple ways to stop the enemy of our soul and our nation and to in fact propel the cause of liberty in Christ and our country simultaneously.
1: PRAY.
Sounds simple…but in the middle of fear we often forget to point and shoot our best weapon. The enemy of our nation and the enemy of our soul stands NO CHANCE against a simple prayer that even an infant can whisper. Every time you look at the news, every time you begin to feel anxious, at every mention of ISIS or some other terrorist group, just say “in the name of Jesus NO. STOP.” Pray that these planes would be found or that whatever sadistic plot the enemy has planned would catastrophically fail. Pray for protection for our precious troops and wisdom for our nations leaders and the intelligence community.
And when you pray, remember, through Christ you have the power to bind anything on earth…you don’t have to beg, as a child of the Most High King you can command that the powers of the enemy fail, and the cause of victory prevail. Pray in faith, without fear. Your Heavenly Father is honored when you pray for big things and delights to show off His lavish grace over His beloved children.
2: KNOW YOUR PART.
When watching the news or reading the headlines, it can be overwhelming. Fear consumes us. And there we sit, mind blown, sick pit in our stomach, and hopelessness arrives and begins to unpack for a long winter stay. No, no, and NO. Instead, ask God for your part. Your purpose. What are you supposed to be focused on? I know for David and I, we are called to minister to, teach and encourage parents. We are reaching the hearts and minds of the next generation by pouring into their moms and dads. I gotta focus on those parents! If I get my mind consumed in seventy different “what if/worst case” scenarios, those parents I should be reaching will be put on the back burner…and the enemy will have won another victory. So know your part. Seek the Lord and ask Him what you should focus on and how you can be serving in the body of Christ. Do your part, with all your heart, and PRAY. And make no mistake, one of the largest parts you have to play is RAISING A GENERATION that will BE the difference and MAKE the changes.
And then go tell Fear to stick it in his ear…because we are too busy to slow down or be stopped by him anymore. After all, if you read the end of the Book, you know how it all turns out. We win. And we have the GOD of ANGEL ARMIES on our side. Don’t be afraid moms and dads. Pray. And focus on YOUR part. Do not be distracted or slow down one bit because of fear.

Most wonderful post! As a new follower, I am grateful to be reminded as we pray, “…you don’t have to beg…you can command that the powers of the enemy fail”. Thank you.
