Trinity was just eight months old when we were given our first son.
He was born months early weighing under two pounds and when we met him he was two weeks old.
Courson’s adoption story is miraculous and you can read more about it in my book.
Since we had no idea such a gift was coming, our little boy was nameless for a few weeks! We tossed back and forth all sorts of names but in the end we settled on Jon Courson after a preacher that we listened to regularly and enjoyed his books. There is already a few men named John in our immediate family, so our new son went by the name of Courson.
One NICU nurse remarked how his name said, “C-Our-Son,” which I had never noticed until she pointed it out.
Little Courson grew strong and today he is an amazing ten year old boy full of spunk. He may be the smallest on his football team but he is an AWESOME center who snaps the ball like a pro. He fits right in with his team and has earned the nickname “Big Dog,” because he may look little but he fights like a big dog!
There are a zillion little miracle stories surrounding this incredible gift from God, but suffice it to say he is one of the greatest surprises the Lord has ever given us. Our first boy after six daughters. Our little man. Jon Courson.

What a beautiful story. Is he named after Jon Courson pastor at Applegate Christian fellowship? We use to live out west and went to his church. So blessed to have found your website. We live in Michigan now and since then we have 4 children(had twins 2 years ago) you have been a huge encouragement to me. I am originally from the south and love your style and encouraging ways. God bless you!

I love reading your blog……especially since your newest little wonder is named for my nephew, Aaron! Such beautiful names and meanings. I also love how your website says it all……”there backs”. Although I know the name of your website is “The Rebacks” it seems fitting that it is also “there backs” because you definitely have the backs of all your children clothed in prayer. May God bless your family as you bless the lives of others. Thank you for the hope and inspiration you bring…..especially to Billy and Karen!
