I am blown away. Absolutely floored. So incredibly blessed. So beyond grateful. I love you people.
Since the inception of this idea, I have watched God move in ways that humble me and bless my socks off. First, the idea. I saw a post from a Gold Star Mother asking if anyone knew of someone who would be helping Gold Star Families with gifts for Christmas. I sat stupified. Surely some charity somewhere was doing this, right? WRONG. I walked into my dining room and said,”Kids, we gotta do this!”
From that point forward, I had Heaven’s hand working behind the scenes in the hearts and minds of His people. My dear friend and assistant Kristine got right on it. She pulled in two friends, Kyle and Rusty who worked tirelessly on our website, strategy, and clarifying our game plan. Our non-profit was approved and we formed a dynamic board of hard workers who helped us behind the scene like mad. Chris Gannon secured underwriting, and several other members helped with logo design, logistics, and how to reach Gold Star Families. Media bought in. Social media friends shared the vision repeatedly. Churches, friends, family, complete strangers from all over the country– heck even my agent jumped on board!
Y’all, I just can not even begin to describe the joy I felt as David came home yesterday with a van full of boxes destined for Gold Star Kids all across this country! Boys and girls who have suffered the loss of a parent that died securing our future and freedoms will receive a generous reminder that this country has not forgotten their loss. This nation wants to honor the cost they have paid. Each and every one of you that has contributed through donations, underwriting, gifts for children, wrapping supplies and even just spreading the message through social media…have given ME the greatest opportunity of all! I get to play Santa Claus! I get to lay hands on each and every gift and pray for each and every child that will receive them!
Together, we have all made a platoon of men up in Heaven smile. We have shown our fallen heroes that we appreciate their sacrifice and we won’t forget the price they have paid. We will honor the loved ones left behind and especially at Christmas, when the loss is so painful, we will wrap our arms around them and show them our gratification with a gift. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. God bless you– each and every one of you that participated in any way you did.
If you missed the opportunity to buy a Gold Star Child a gift, you can still donate towards our project. Our mission is not yet complete and there are costs to still cover. I’ve had several people call, text, message us saying they missed getting a gift for a Gold Star Child…what could they do? DONATE. Your money will benefit EVERY kid and we can still use it toward this project.
But from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you. Thank you for Believing With Me that we can make a difference in this country. Thank you for loving on Gold Star families. Thank you for participating in this ministry.
