Over the last few weeks I have been VERY SICK. Even hospitalized for a short while. Still waiting on my healing, I’ve been writing and working on a new book and Bible study that I know will surely benefit so many families… And in the course of that study I came across this verse:
“And now to Him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in His bright presence, fresh and celebrating– to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all days.” – Jude vs. 24-25
Maybe this verse stuck out to me because I’ve been under the weather and needing some strength in which to STAND. But in all honesty, if you’re anything like me, as a mom most days we stand on what feels like some pretty shaky legs and broken feet. We feel far less than “standing tall, fresh and celebrating.” Some days, just a shower and a chance to brush our teeth would be sufficient.
But here’s what this verse means:
Our stand is not based on our strength or ability! It’s based solely upon God, through our faith in Christ and His ability to keep us on our feet!
Already I feel stronger knowing that my strength does not have to come from me, it comes from His Spirit which lives in me…
Knowing that it is Christ Who keeps me standing tall in the bright presence of God, darkness and fears flee as I imagine myself before His throne the way that faith in the sacrifice of Christ presents me faultless. I pray that as you think through this scripture today you are strengthened from within and feel His very power within you erasing doubts and fears about your parenting– or whatever else is troubling you.
Remember, He keeps you on your feet. He sees you as standing tall, fresh and celebrating. He has all the power, wisdom, glory and majesty you could possibly ever need to do this job and do it well.
Standing tall with you (because of Jesus) and giving out my biggest virtual hug to all of you!
