A few years ago, my daughter spoke at a Tea Party Rally. She wrote the speech, prepared for it endlessly, and at the rally, she delivered it flawlessly. I marveled backstage as I could watch her through the black curtain, able to hear her speak, but only able to see her silhouette from the back. I cried as I heard her speak the scriptures, invoke the name of Christ, and plea with people to reach out to her generation and teach them.
She was beautiful. Classic. Amazing as she talked backstage with congressmen, press, and other local politicians and spokespeople. I just marveled that THIS was MY child.
I don’t know where you are in your journey through parenthood. If you have a new baby, you will be just as awed as I was at the first time they roll over, eat solid foods, say their first word or take those first wobbly steps. If you have a Little League baseball player, the first time he hits that ball you will feel the same amazement. Or the first time you see your child display true empathy or kindness. Or take a brave step towards defending a friend. Every moment of the ride has incredible potential.
Everything my daughter does, all the good and truly amazing things she accomplishes, is a result of BELIEF in a God who wants her to succeeed at life even more than I do. A faith in a FATHER who has guided me every day of her life. A CREATOR who made her to use her for His glory.
I want to encourage you to really seek the Lord and His will for your children. Pray, watch, listen carefully. He made these precious gifts and He intends to use them!

Daly Kay’s speech at The Tea Party was a glimpse into her future, and it was so wonderful to see my entire family there proud of her, encouraging their sister! And I know my Father in Heaven was watching and was pleased with all He saw. It felt like the winning touchdown! And all thanks and praise to Him for His gracious outpouring of wisdom and guidance over seventeen years.
