Thanks for the bed that I can not wait to fall into…even if it is still unmade from the previous night’s sleep.
Thanks for the dinner…whose dishes still need to soak in the sink because dear daughter burned the beef.
Thanks for the messy yard because it means I have kids who have toys and are healthy enough to use them.
Thanks for the bath…even if I’m the fourth person to use the damp towel hanging on the hook. It means I have clean children who splashed around in my bathroom before bedtime.
Thanks for the snoring husband whose exhaustion comes from 25 hours worth of work done in a 24 hour time period.
And even a thanks for the baby who still wakes up in the middle of the night to be fed…because these days pass far too quickly and never again are they this easy to snuggle.
Give thanks, y’all. There is so very, very much to be grateful for.

Lyette, this is probably one of the most powerful, practical and poignant posts yet! In it’s raw “real life” context, you inspire each one of us to stop, look around and remember to thank God for what we have that REALLY matters!! Thank you!
