Homecoming!

image1 This past week, two of my adorable daughters were asked to homecoming.

The young men who asked to take them are such great kids and I am so excited for how much fun they are going to have. After a quick perusal of the closet I realized that Ryli and Bliss had taken nearly every fancy schmancy dress with them to university. What was left did not exactly thrill Kemper and Glory.

There was no way I was getting out of this without a shopping trip.

Saturday, after four little brothers killed it on the gridiron, I headed out with Kemper, Glory and Trin. We ran through Ross and TJ Maxx. After those two stores left us empty handed and on a tight budget, I was beginning to worry. Walking out of Ross, I remembered, “Cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you.”

With a wallet full of faith we headed into a consignment shop. I found a few options there, but none that made the girls thrilled. We did, however, meet this absolutely adorable brunette named Madi who was simply beautiful as she tried on her green gown for Homecoming. She was so sweet and remembered Kemper’s unique name when an hour later she messaged Kemps through instagram. By this point we were at a dress boutique and had scoured the place to find a little sporty looking number for Kemps that was 50% off of 50% off of 50% off. A $400 dress for $49.71. Wow. God was good.

Meanwhile, sweet Madi was texting away with Kemps. Running through her closet she came up with three options she thought might work for us.
I asked Kemper to see how much she wanted for them.

“Oh no! You can have them! I don’t need them anymore!”

Boom.

We turned our car around from heading to another shop and went to Madi’s house where she introduced us to her entire family and even offered to let Kempie’s borrow her favorite shoes.

image3So folks, no matter where your heart’s at today…no matter what your overwhelming challenges are or how difficult your situation is, I am here to tell you He cares. If He can dress my girls for homecoming, TWO daughters, for $49.71, then He hears your prayers and wants to show you how much He loves you and is interested in even minute details of your life.
