After a dozen childbirths, my body has had more than it’s fair share of abuse.
Over the last 22 years I have gained and lost 500 pounds. That’s pretty…astounding.
And I’m down to my last 19.
I’m ready to be back in shape, fitting into the boxes of clothes I haven’t used in a decade.
I’ve pulled out my tiny jeans and I’m going to fit back into those son-of-a-guns sooner rather than later.
Who’s with me?
Who’s ready to hit the gym, pound the pavement, forego the chips and salsa and slip into a swimsuit and feel good about it?
Some of you are fitter than fiddles and you inspire me.
Some of you have gained a few pounds and enjoy the extra curves– good for you sister.
Some of you have tried over and over again and you are frustrated and maybe knowing I’m pushing through will give you the extra oomph to try again.
And then there are some of you who feel so overwhelmed at the thought of adding another thing to your plate and your weight has just been such a sore spot you’d rather just…not.
I completely get all of that. I’ve been in every one of those states of mind a dozen times before myself but here is what I will tell you.
If you do something for yourself…a little workout. A little walk. A bit of weights during naptime. A little sunshine every day. You’ll feel better about yourself. You’ll feel stronger to face other battles that are currently overwhelming you. You’ll have more libido. You’ll gain confidence in having tackled something each day when you get in even a small workout.
And if I can add a bit of a workout in for myself in my crazy day of homeschooling 11 kids, writing a book, writing a blog, running a non-profit, running this crazy household, and 13 kids on 6 different teams with 88 sports practices weekly… then you can too.
C’mon. Let’s do it.
Let’s get in shape together! Feel free to share your goals with me in the comments below or just let me know that you’re joining me in the quest for fitness and I’ll keep you posted on my progress! Love to all of you and no matter what mamas, you’re beautiful in my book!

My 9th is almost 6 months old and I’ve added in my TTapp the last few weeks. I’m starting to feel good again finally!
You really out the weight gain/loss into perspective adding it all together. I think my total is about 350 lbs. Yikes! I’m not so overweight after all.

I am jumping on this train with you Lyette! Headed back to Core Evol and increasing daily walks in a bit of sun ( good for Vitamin D) β β Your posts are always perfectly timedπ It would be great if we could do a Walk where Gold Star Moms could be honored…

I want to eat clean, walk at least 10,000 steps a day, sleep 8 hours each night and start using weights as well.

I started working out at work on my lunchtime and seriously watching what I eat. I have lost 27 lbs….and want to lose 10 more. It is so rewarding taking care of me too. We wear soooo many hats and I love being a full time employee, wife and mother of a 23 and 5 year old. The last 10 lbs are going to be tough. Once you start to see results, it’s hard to not slip and have that ice cream with sprinkles. Wish me luck!!

Hi! I’m absolutely amazed that you can work out with perfect makeup! How is that possible??
But, then again, you have 16 children so I’m pretty darn sure you are super human!!!
