Those of you that have followed the blog for any amount of time know that I LOVE OUR MILITARY. You also know that I have connected the dots between raising an army and fighting hard for our country as we raise up this next generation.
So then it should be no surprise that this picture of breastfeeding mothers from Ft. Bliss just hit me right in the feels.
First, my third daughter is named Bliss, so that base already won my heart. Next, these moms are not just moms but soldier moms still making a way to serve this great nation and breastfeed their babies! I don’t even know how they manage to do that! But they do! They fight for our freedom, train like maniacs, serve our nation and still manage to mommy on. What heroes.
I’ve breastfed 12 babies. Sometimes it went well, other times it was just plain awful. I can encourage moms either direction when it comes to what and how to feed your baby (Breastfeeding and Its Proper Place, Breast or Bottle?, and Playing the Parenting Game) but this photo is really making me proud of moms everywhere giving their babies the best they can and their country all they have. Momma on, soldiers. You have my greatest respect. Thank you for your service to our country and your commitment to your family. And your commitment to MY family and that of every family in this country. We are all grateful and humbled by your sacrifice. God bless you all!
