I’m up early this morning and I am already tired. Too tired to even go make the coffee. It’s only 7am and I am exhausted.
So here’s how spiritual I am: I go to Biblegateway.com and I do a word search for “exhausted.” Maybe God has a word for me there. Well, surprise surprise. He sure does.
When Gideon came to the Jordan, he and the three hundred men who were with him crossed over, exhausted but still in pursuit. Then he said to the men of Succoth, “Please give loaves of bread to the people who follow me, for they are exhausted, and I am pursuing Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.” – Judges 8:4-5
Gosh that’s great to know! Gideon was the leader over a small army that had been given a major task. He had been doing his job fighting and now he had the enemy on the run…but dang was he tired.
I mean, he was obeying what God had told him to do, he was following all that God had for him… but Ho-Ly was this exhausting.
And yet Gideon keeps putting one tired, exhausted foot in front of the others–while leading his band of unlikely heroes on to the certain victory God had promised them.
“Toss my guys some bread who are coming behind me, they’re starving– ” he says as he keeps pushing forward.
So to you, my band of unlikely heroes, lemme toss you some bread as we keep pushing forward. Let me tell you that we may be a small army, but just this past month alone we have reached over 18,000 parents with our message of hope and help for parenting.
That’s probably a minimum of 50,000 lives when you think about how many spouses and children were affected with the content on this site. We may be a small army, but we are growing and advancing every darn day! We are making strides and I tell you I think we’ve crossed over the Jordan and we got the enemy on the run!
Lemme toss you some bread, the Bread of Life! Lemme tell you He loves you and He is going to do amazing things with this army! Now go wake up those little soldiers under your roof and let’s take back this country!
And thank you sweet Jesus for coffee. And for my darling 7 year old who just brought me the cup sloshing it all over the carpet. Lord what an awesome army we have!

Great point mom! Sometimes it seems like life can get exhausting– and the ‘promise of a silver lining’ seems so hard to believe. Look for the ‘God lining!’

He never wastes an ounce of our hurt or tough times. It’s always for a good reason!

Happy Christmas my friend! I know it’s been a tough year…but if we just keep marching, we’ll get through the trials. xoxo
