I’ll readily admit I’m not the best driving teacher. I try. But I get scared and frustrated and wiggy marly pretty fast when I get out on the road with one of my teenagers. If I have a problem keeping my language clean under the best of circumstances, you can imagine how quickly things can deteriorate when I have an inexperienced driver behind the wheel.
Definitely not my finest mommy hour.
So I had to bring in a professional. A short search on google led me to Cantor Driving School where all the instructors are former NYPD. I figured my girls would be safe with one of our nation’s finest men in blue!
Joe, our instructor, was not only patient and extremely explanatory with my girls, he was absolutely chock full of stories from his time on the force. As a former traffic accident investigator, he had more than enough motivational material to keep my girls attention and help them realize the gravity of their decisions behind the wheel.
If you’re on the eastern seaboard, I can’t recommend Cantor Driving School enough for your teenager’s driving education. They do pick up to drop off, even take the student TO the exam! And I could not have been more impressed with Joe’s heart for teens and keeping them safe on the road. I’m so thankful for his big blue NYPD heart and expertise!
Joe was not only more qualified to teach the girls than me, the student driving car gave him an advantage with a set of brakes on the passenger side. He caught mistakes they were making that I had been oblivious to and he was able to correct them without the added pressure that driving with mom or dad can usually bring. My girls came home with smiles on their faces and loads of Joe’s stories to share.
