Everybody needs at least one person in their life who never says, “You’re crazy.”
Everyone should have one friend who is ready to believe the impossible with you.
I am blessed to have several such friends and surely one of them who has always been in my corner is Amanda.
This past week of our extreme makeover took a team of prayer warriors — some of them I know where on their knees like Marsha and Amy Z, and I am sure many others who read and follow this blog…friends near and far…But without Amanda’s “yes we can” I wouldn’t have even attempted this extreme makeover. I needed a yes from my husband, a yes from Billy Jones the painter, and a yes from Amanda or this project was a “no.” And when Amanda said yes, I knew we could do it.
Amanda is the type of gal who will probably be mad that I even wrote this about her, but you all need to know that for a solid two years when there were just a couple dozen faithful readers to this blog, Amanda commented– every. single. post.
When we did our first extreme makeover project together, she jumped in with both feet, even though she was really pregnant and was leaving town for Christmas vacation.
When we did our second one, we were both really pregnant and she stayed up three days and nights in a row with me to get the job done.
And when I’ve faltered in our friendship or been too swamped to see straight, she’s been gracious and giving all along. She’s a good friend to my family and if you were any part of last week’s #OperationGratefulNation, then give a shout out to Amanda when you see her. If you enjoy reading any part of this blog, then say a little prayer for Amanda because there were plenty of times that it was ONLY her commenting that kept me writing. And if you have a crazy big dream in your life and you feel it is impossible, then I pray you find a friend like Amanda who will be your co-conspirator and tell you that even though you may be crazy, they are willing to be crazy right alongside of you.

Love Amanda….her husband, children, parents! So blessed to have met them through JBF years ago! I remember Amanda telling us stories about you Lyette and how great your kiddos were etc and I had the opportunity to meet you and some of them at one of Amanda ‘ s sales when I was able to come and help her. You both are amazing mothers, women of God and I am so glad you have each other in your corners!! It’s amazing how our friends can be instrumental in the plans the Lord has for our lives!

Thank you, Amanda!!! I watched you, last week, as you brought your 5 precious babes to the nearby site where the children were being cared for. You thought out each specific detail for each of your children, lugging in a carefully packed diaper bag, a pack n play, your children’s favorite pillow and videos. You arose early each day to drive over an hour away, to believe with your friend, Lyette. You did ALL of that and more, to help my friend, Linda, my co-conspirator. I am grateful to know you. Thank you, Amanda!
