Today David and my oldest six girls are leaving on an epic vacation. Through the generosity of their grandparents, they are leaving for three weeks to visit some of the most exotic ports of call on the other side of the globe.
And I couldn’t be happier for them…
To visit Dubai, India, Malaysia, and Singapore just to name a few is such an incredible opportunity. I can hardly wait to hear all about their adventures, funny stories, hilarious mishaps and see bazillions of photos!
But I am sure going to miss them like crazy! I have never been apart from David or my girls this long!
Grandma and Grandpa (David’s parents) have more than spoiled the girls with this opportunity, and I look forward to sharing photos and stories with all of you as they cruise along.
I’ll be home holding down the fort with everyone from Courson on down. I keep consoling myself that this will be fun– I’ll have the opportunity at night to get so many things done, get so much work and writing in, even get to bed early for a few nights since my late night jabbers will be gone for so long…
But truth be known– I’ll miss them all like mad.
So if you think of my family today, say a prayer for safe travels. And say a prayer for me too. I am heartbreakingly excited for all of them– and that’s just one of the many counter-intuitive emotions of parenting.
