Daly Kay loves reading to her little brother, Stone.
I don’t remember when I began the habit of asking God for gifts…but every Christmas and birthday, I make a request of him.
Sometimes they are specific– like the time I asked him for a son…and over the Christmas holiday baby Stone was conceived.
Other times they are unexpected, like when Terryon, my son in the faith, was baptized in the ocean on my birthday.
Sometimes it’s very expensive and completely out of my range to even think about asking for–like after I gave birth to Stone and my mother-in-law gave me a massive diamond ring (Stone! Get it?) with a blue enamel band…and sometimes it’s something so significant and prayed for it just brings me to tears…like the time before Christmas when after a conversation with Shepherd’s birthmom she sent me a letter telling me she had accepted Jesus.
But EVERY TIME I am blown away.
You see, God is a giver. He who spared NOT His own son would freely give us anything. And His presents are the best to receive…I want to encourage you to go ahead and ASK. You’ll be amazed at His way of showing up with more and bigger than you could have ever asked, dreamed, or imagined.
