Yesterday was the craziest best day I’ve had in a long time.
The Today Show segment hit and our website began lighting up. Children were being sponsored, donations came in, and requests for how people could help literally flooded my email.
Within just a couple of hours, every kid had been sponsored and our Amazon Wish List was wiped clean.
Christmas is now REALLY going to happen for these kids.
At the end of the day as I was systematically going through and answering each email, facebook message and text, I realized that we still had hundreds of Americans looking for a way to give gratitude to our Gold Star families.
And I believe I have something.
If you are a #gratefulamerican who wants to still give thanks this holiday season…if you missed out on an opportunity to give to our Gold Star kids but you still want to give SOMETHING…
Because I’ve got a Christmas surprise, a New Year’s gift in mind for a Gold Star family that will make their head spin.
It’s audacious and bold and beyond what I could even dream of doing by myself.
But with you crazy people who are just nuts enough to #believewithme that we can bring hope and help to America’s Gold Star families, I’m feeling pretty confident that TOGETHER– we can accomplish the impossible.
A mere 24 hours ago, I had over 250 Gold Star kids who still needed sponsors. I needed shipping, wrapping supplies, heck—I needed a miracle. And YOU were all the hands and feet of Jesus bringing comfort to those who were mourning. YOU brought love and gratitude in spades. YOU gave and now all of our Gold Star kids are going to be blessed beyond belief!
So with the big task of still getting the gifts in, organizing them, wrapping, boxing, shipping and keeping my head on straight ahead of me…
I am also taking on the audacious goal of providing a home for some Gold Star parents who, since the loss of their son, lost their home.
Y’all, that just ain’t right.
You can NOT give your son and lose your home.
With grief so devastating, it is completely understandable that financial havoc is common after such a loss.
But it just shouldn’t be.
And we can help.
Together we can do something.
So today, visit BelieveWithMe and see how you can help restore what was lost to this family after the death of their son.
Get your friends to give.
And let’s get this house for them by Christmas.
