It’s a crazy week trying to get Ryli and Bliss off to school, but this week also marks the 10th birthday of my beautiful Liberty. I can not believe it has been a decade since we were blessed with such a precious gift.
Liberty Cross Reback shares my initials, my dark eyes and truthfully has the fastest fast twitch fibers of any Reback yet. This child can move! She’s quick on the draw, quick with the tongue, and an athletic young lady who will soon be head and shoulders above me.
Liberty was greeted first thing in the morning – like every birthday morning in this family — with a singing serenade of every sibling bearing notes and gifts. After a day full of activities, Liberty and I were able to spend the evening together. She chose her favorite Thai food restaurant, a stop at the “bear-stuffins place” (aka Build a Bear), a quick trip through the candy store, and then off to Barnes and Noble.
I enjoyed every moment I had with her. We held hands, asked each other about our favorite this and that, shared Shirley Temples and maraschino cherries, and agreed that Rocky 2 may be the best movie of all time.
It was a wonderful birthday to spend with sweet Liberty, and an even better decade because she’s been in our lives.
